Internet Privacy
I am certainly concerned of how the internet handles
individuals’ digital identity. The
internet has a lot of privacy issues to sort out. They can begin with anyone who has a digital
print floating out there somewhere. Take
Google for example, if you type in my name and the results pop on the page and
they have my name highlight in boldface with the work I’ve done in the
past is in there Google search engine
database. The question pop in my mind,
are they keeping a history of me in there database, who is tracking my work on
the internet? Who gave them the right to post or expose information about me on
the web? This are just some of the question I am concerned with the internet
privacy.
I do admire the work I do online with modifications. If you love the work that you’re doing online
then definitely a digital identity is for you.
To achieve this, you probably have use email, face book, twitter,
blogging, taking online classes, and other social media you have
encounter. All it takes is for you to
register in information, sign in, log in and you have a digital identity. In the near future, new technology will
emerge and continue the trend of digital identity to the next level especially
within our education systems and higher institutions.
Bishop Museum
Destination will be at the Bishop Museum just off kalihi St.
or Likelike Hwy. The Bishop Museum is
filled with Hawaiian artifacts and Kamehameha royal family heirlooms from a
princess Bernice Pauahi collection which her husband name is Charles Reed Bishop
establish it in 1889. The Bishop Museum
is one of the tourist attractions on island.
It is a place where the native Hawaiians store and preserve their
culture and other pacific island cultures which now has expand to over a
million artifacts since the late 1880’s.
It is one of the world largest natural history of different variety of
collections throughout Polynesian cultures.
The museum and its members have served the Hawaiian community for more
than a hundred years in the making. Its
representation is primarily ties in with the natives and local interests. The
museum itself is pretty much has a yearlong schedule to best served its
people. It has brought and creates
business which amounts to new jobs to serve the Hawaiians. It has a partnership of the department of
education for school visits, field trips and educating generations of students
in both private and public schools as well.
There is an ongoing research and collections section for any artifacts
that comes in the museum for all to see its authenticity. In addition, the museum does operate a botanical
garden which reflects the beauty of the museum when you leave its grounds.
Physical Education and Gesture Based Gaming Software
Gesture base computing is
like something I’ve seen in a science fiction movie. In reality, gesture base computing is
accessible to everyone. The benefits in using gesture based game devices in the
classroom can be motivational, making P.E and health concepts more fun to teach
indoors.
To be specific, I could utilize gesture based device as an indoor track and field. There is always some possibility that some students are inactive with the activities we do outdoors, sometimes we miss it because of weather conditions and so forth. “….Gesture-based computing allows users to engage in virtual activities with motion and movement similar to what they would use in the real world, manipulating content intuitively (Johnson, L., Adams, S., & Cummins, M. (2012). I would love to see a gesture-based device that can control and record the student’s movement’s base on the activity they are working on. The device can record the students’ coordination by throwing, catching and running with the ball. The device can also act as an assessment tool to assess their level physically and mentally before they even start the activity. As they progress throughout the school year, the activity will get hard base on the skills they have mastered. I think with the installation of a gesture base gaming software on a computer will make simulations of basics forms and movements of each sport more fun inclusively.

Mobile Education
In my school, we are still in developing stages to have everybody to
work inclusively integrating technology in our classrooms. With the new
developments, mobile education really needs to adopt its own model. In
traditional classroom learning environment, all the activities, such as
lectures, assignments, discussions, presentations, and so on, are all
carried out at a designated place and time. Desktop computerized
education extends the range of education to places where wired
connection is ready. Now with mobile technologies, the range of
education can be further extended by wireless connection to places and
time of learners' choice regardless of availability of wired
infrastructure. This is a significant step towards the learners
beginning to gain control over their own learning schedule. The shift
from desktop to palmtop education has great potential of facilitating
the learning activities, which consequently increases the efficiency of
educational information exchange between the learners and the teachers.
Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is where people share to
store their data, which is fast to get started and cost less. It is like G mail vs. Microsoft exchange. In Gmail, you don’t need servers, storage,
technical team to keep it up and running and no upgrades. In cloud computing,
you just need to log in, customize it and use it for whatever is relevant to
your work. The cloud allows users to run
applications and store data online. The services provide by cloud
are software which allow users to run existing online applications, the
platform allows users to create their own cloud application using supplier-specific
tools and languages, its infrastructure allows users to run any applications
they please on cloud hardware of their own choice. Cloud uses a platform that provides an
environment and a set of tools for creating new online applications. For
example, I can use Google app engine to develop, run and maintain any web
application within Google for free, Azure is one of Microsoft application can
be run on cloud computing, and force.com can allow users to build
web applications and host it for free. The three platforms are all rapid
development at low cost, private or public deployment in search engines ant it
risk application build on one platform cannot be move to another. Cloud
computing can move existing application from anywhere and store it to cloud.
